Show-Stopping Cabinetry in Saratoga Springs Speakeasy Basement
The owners of a special horse farm in Saratoga Springs NY turned to Housewright for design expertise and bespoke cabinetry to create this sumptuous below-grade bar. Inspired by the homeowners’ travels, Housewright and its partners delivered on this swanky New Orleans-styled setting. Innovative design elements keep this below-grade space from feeling anything but “basement.” Glass, woods, metals, leather, and textiles were thoughtfully selected and combined to achieve an alluring space. A substantial and sinuous pewter-topped bar with seating for seven fronts an expanse of warmly lit floating glass and wood shelves. A banquette backed by a cushioned wall of vibrant tartan creates a clubby niche. Professionally designed lighting makes for a sophisticated and truly luminous space. Not to be overlooked: storage is cleverly concealed behind tall panels with touch latches and picture-framed doors featuring black metallic woven wall-covering inserts that integrate seamlessly with the sleek decor.
